SCS Facilities Management provide servicing, repair and maintenance for all types of heat pumps – Air Source; Ground Source; Domestic; Commercial; Industrial; Air-to-Water; Air-to-Air
REGULAR MAINTENANCE
We recommend that all heat pumps are serviced on an annual basis to ensure longevity and efficient operation. This is also required to maintain the product’s manufacturer’s guarantee and a mandatory requirement if receiving RHI payments. Annual heat pump servicing and maintenance is recommended by the Energy Saving Trust, giving you peace of mind that your heat pump system is performing optimally.
A heat pump service will typically involve the following steps:
- Visual checks of the heat pump and core components, airflow and fan function
- Cleaning the heat pump evaporator / heat-exchanger
- Check and replace seals and gaskets
- Check the heating and hot water system including the expansion vessel, system pressure, concentration levels of the anti-freeze/corrosion protection, check the control settings and look for any leaks on the system.
- Check and clean filters and strainers
- Check compressor operation and efficiency
- Checking refrigerant circuit by F-Gas registered engineer
- Check digital analysis – depending on manufacturer
- Brine solution acidity and glycol testing – ground source

Myth: Heat pumps require a lot of maintenance
Fact: Heat pumps need no more maintenance than a gas boiler. Just like with a gas boiler, we recommend an annual service for your heat pump.
